SAFETY INFORMATION

Pride Glasgow is a weekend of fun and enjoyment and we don’t want that experience spoiled by anything  so here’s some tips on how to make sure you’re safe throughout the weekend. All information on here relates to Pride Glasgow, Pride at the Bandstand and Steps After-party unless mentioned otherwise.

SECURITY

Ourselves, Serenity Security and Police Scotland appreciate your co-operation and patience when entering the event.

A search will be conducted by trained security personnel as a condition of entry to the site. Please be patient if there are longer queues than normal, and please co-operate with any security requests and searches.

We work closely with the Police and this year you may see more armed police officers around Glasgow and at the festival site. Please don’t be worried, we don’t have any intelligence that there are any planned attacks on Pride Glasgow, but we feel we would rather be prepared for any eventualities.

We have offered specialist training to all our volunteers and staff for what to do in the event of an attack.

There is lots of information available and you can find out more here https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/national-counter-terrorism-security-office

BAG SEARCHES AT THE EVENT ENTRANCES

All bags will be searched. We advise you do not bring a bag into the Festival unless essential as there may be long queues while all bags are searched. We reserve the right to search any size bag at any time.

Please try to limit the size of bag you bring to no larger than around the size of a sheet of A3 paper. This will allow us to  be able to search bags faster and reduce queues.

There will be plenty of trained security staff and stewards around the festival site if you have any queries or concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to them. Please also report anything you are not sure about. Incidents of crime and disorder will be reported to the police.

Entry to the premises will be refused to any person who appears to be drunk, acting in a threatening manner or is violent.

LIQUIDS

Plastic bottles & cans of soft drink are allowed to be brought on site, as long as the seal is clearly intact and bottle has not been opened. Alcohol drinks are not allowed to be brought on site (this can be purchased at on site bars), nor is Glass bottles. Baby milk is allowed.

In an emergency, please contact the nearest member of security for help.

There are First-aid personnel throughout the site who are fully equipped to deal with all situations.
