The Family Area was introduced at our 2016 event and has went down very well with families coming to Pride.
It is a smoke and alcohol free area staffed by our volunteers who are all PVG checked to work in this area.
This year we have teamed up with Blair Drummond Safari Park again and Glasgow Science Centre who will be joining us to put on their own displays within the Family Area.
The Family Area is located within the main festival site and therefore wristbands are required. Remember under 13s gain free access to the event if accompanied by an adult. Click here to purchase wristbands.
Open 14th July 12pm – 6pm and Sunday 15th July 12pm – 5pm.
A variety of interactive activities will be provided by volunteers in several fun filled zones throughout the family and Youth area. Active Zone will help burn energy and develop skills through activities such as archery, limbo, bowling, football skills and team games for all ages.
Our Arts and Crafts zone will inspire creativity with activities such as painting, drawing, jewellery making and designing sun catchers. Learn how to skate at our Skate Zone where coaches will be on hand to teach children of all ages the basis skills they need to master this sport. Relax and let your littles one’s imagination take them to far away lands at our storytelling corner where classic children’s stories will be read as well as an opportunity to be involved with sounds and actions.
Participants can experience retro games with a variety of fun challenges including hook a duck, ring toss and knocking over bottles. Blair Drummond Safari will be on hand again with an interactive workshop discovering safari animals. Glasgow Science centre will also provide an session exploring the human body. Face painting and a bouncy castle will also be provided as well as the opportunity to win prizes with a variety of competitions and a fun Disney quiz.
