Free event at Kelvingrove Bandstand

Pride Glasgow are delighted to introduce to our 2018 event a free event at Kelvingrove Bandstand, just a stone throw away from the main festival site at Kelvingrove Park.

The Bandstand will be open on 14-15th July 2018 from 2pm – 6pm.

Entry is completely free, you do not require a wristband for the main festival to enter the Bandstand.

New to the 2018 event, this area is free entry and is open to people with or without wristbands for the main festival at Kelvingrove Park.

There will be live music and entertainment from 2pm-6pm on 14-15th July 2018. Acts will be mainly made up of local community acts given up their time for free.

What will be available to do at the Bandstand?

Bandstand stage

With 8 hours of entertainment over both days, there will be something for everyone. A full line-up will be announced in July 2018 before the event.


We will be utilising the existing toilets within the Bandstand, which includes Accessible Toilets. These toilets will remain open to the general public – unfortunately this does mean that these toilets will not be Gender Neutral.

We will also be providing a number of portaloos which will be available to everyone to use.

Catering outlet


A mixed type of hot food will be on sale at the Bandstand.

Food can not be brought in to the Bandstand.

Disabled Facilities

There will be a disabled viewing platform within the Bandstand and Accessible toilets.


The Bandstand will have its own licence to serve Alcohol.

Alcohol can not be brought into the Bandstand, including from the main festival site.


There may be the opportunity for some stalls within the area, due to limited space we are looking at options regarding this. Watch this space. Anyone who would be interested in a stall if we are successful should e-mail


The Bandstand is a ticketless FREE event.

Anyone with wristbands / tickets for the main festival are welcome to come and go between both the Bandstand and the main festival, as they are a very short distance apart.

Anyone leaving the Bandstand will only gain access to the main festival with a valid wristband.


The Bandstand will consist of local community acts given up their time for free. A full list of acts will be provided in July 2018 here and on social media.

Mel C, The Sundaes, GBX etc will not be performing at the Bandstand, if you are looking to see one of these acts you should buy your tickets here.

Registration for Parade is the same for anyone attending Bandstand as those detailed on the URL above. So ensure if you are coming with your business / group that you register.

Volunteering at the Bandstand

Volunteers are integral to our organisation and event. Anyone wishing to apply to volunteer will have to register through our volunteer programme, Pride Life.

You can then express an interest in which area(s) you wish to volunteer in.
